Founded in 2005 by Sunil Kandalloor, this museum is a major tourist attraction in Lonavala, Maharashtra. It houses over 100 life-sized wax figures of global and Indian celebrities, ranging from political leaders and social activists to film stars and sports icons. The institution is modeled after Madame Tussauds, utilizing high-grade silicone and wax for realistic textures.
The collection includes statues of Indian freedom fighters, contemporary Bollywood and Hollywood actors, world-renowned athletes, and spiritual leaders. Each figure is placed in a themed setting to allow for interactive photography.
Sunil Kandalloor’s Originals: The museum is unique for featuring statues hand-sculpted by the artist himself rather than mass-produced replicas. Notable figures include Mahatma Gandhi, Adolf Hitler, and a highly detailed statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
