Museum Introduction

Established in 2006 by the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), this museum is located in the historic Annandale area of Shimla. It is dedicated to showcasing the 5,000-year-old history of Indian warfare and the evolution of the Indian Army. The museum serves as a tribute to the valor, traditions, and contributions of the Indian soldiers from ancient times to the modern era.

General Collections

The collection includes a vast array of modern and traditional weaponry, military uniforms (pre- and post-independence), medals, and gallantry awards. It also features historical photographs, flags, ammunitions, and items related to the United Nations Peacekeeping forces.

Unique Historical Collections

Houses the original surrender letter signed by Pakistan after the 1971 War and a captured Pakistani letter box used as a souvenir. It also contains artifacts dating back to 2500 BC and a dedicated section on the history and landmarks of Shimla.
