Museum Introduction

Established in 2013, this institution is a premier science communication center in Upper Assam. Developed by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) in collaboration with the Government of Assam, it aims to foster scientific temper through interactive exhibits and celestial shows. It serves as a major educational landmark for students and researchers in the North East region.

The center features several interactive galleries including 'The Story of Oil' and 'Fun Science,' which house hands-on exhibits on physics, mechanics, and optics. It also includes a dedicated gallery on the biodiversity of Northeast India and various scientific models demonstrating fundamental principles of science.

Unique Historical Collections

The planetarium features a specialized hybrid projection system and a dedicated 'Oil Gallery' that provides a comprehensive technological history of the oil industry in Assam, which is historically significant as the birthplace of the Indian oil industry (Digboi).
