Museum Introduction

Established in 1976 and located in the Gagan Mahal area of Hyderabad, this museum houses the extraordinary private collection of the renowned artist-collector couple, Jagdish and Kamla Mittal. It was created as a public trust to preserve one of the finest collections of Indian art in the world, spanning from the 1st century BC to the early 20th century.

General Collections

The museum's vast repository includes over 2,000 objects, featuring miniature paintings, bronze sculptures, terracottas, woodcarvings, ivory, and metalware. It is particularly celebrated for its representation of various schools of Indian painting and traditional crafts.

Unique Historical Collections

Features a world-class collection of Pahari and Deccani miniature paintings. It also preserves rare 17th-century Bidriware and exquisite Mughal-era textiles.
