Museum Introduction

Located in the restored 16th-century Chanwar Palkiwalon ki Haveli near Amber Fort, this museum is dedicated to the preservation of traditional hand-block printing. It was founded in 2005 by the Anokhi Foundation to document and promote the craftsmanship of Rajasthani artisans.

General Collections

The "Anokhi Archives" contains over 100 garments, intricate wooden and brass blocks, tools (chisels, hand-bow drills), and home furnishings dating from the 1960s to the present. It also showcases photographic documentation of regional printing communities.

Unique Historical Collections

It features the UNESCO-recognized restoration of the haveli itself and a specialized collection of Bakst-inspired textiles, showcasing the cross-cultural exchange between Indian artisans and Russian avant-garde designer Léon Bakst.
