Established in 2001 and located in Kochi, this museum is housed in two renovated heritage bunkers built by the British during World War II. It chronicles the evolution of the Indian Navy and the maritime history of the Indian subcontinent from the Indus Valley Civilization to the modern era.
Displays include intricate models of warships, historic navigation maps, naval uniforms, and traditional maritime artifacts. The outdoor section features retired naval weaponry, including missiles, torpedoes, and anti-aircraft guns.
Features the "Maritime History of India" gallery, which highlights India's ancient trade links with Mesopotamia and the Roman Empire, as well as a dedicated section on the Kunjali Marakkars, the naval commanders of the Zamorin of Calicut.
