Museum Introduction

Established in 1954 at Palam Air Force Station, this is the premier institution documenting the history and evolution of the Indian Air Force (IAF). It showcases the journey of Indian military aviation from its inception in 1932 through various conflicts, serving as a significant repository of aerial heritage and valor.

General Collections

A comprehensive collection of over 60 aircraft, ranging from vintage biplanes to modern supersonic jets. The inventory includes aero-engines, ordnance, anti-aircraft guns, uniforms, and a vast photographic archive of the Royal Indian Air Force and the modern IAF.

Unique Historical Collections

Features the Westland Wapiti, the first aircraft type flown by the IAF's No. 1 Squadron in 1933. It also houses the Japanese Kamikaze Glider (Ohka) and several war trophies, including captured Pakistani aircraft and tanks from the 1965 and 1971 wars.
