The is a poignant museum and war memorial located near the Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport. Constructed and maintained by the Indian Army, it serves as a tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during various Indo-Pak wars. The building features a distinctive pyramid-shaped entrance and is set against a backdrop of rugged mountains.
The museum spans two floors, housing a vast collection of weapons, ammunition, and military equipment used or captured during historical operations. It also contains sections dedicated to the rich cultural heritage, biodiversity, and regional history of Ladakh, including displays of traditional dresses and local flora and fauna.
OP Vijay Gallery: Features detailed exhibits on the Kargil War (Operation Vijay), including actual weapons, photographs, and personal stories of valor. Siachen Glacier Display: Showcases the extreme conditions faced by soldiers at the world's highest battlefield, featuring specialized arctic gear, clothing, and models of their living quarters. The Last Post: A deeply moving frame on a wall displaying the final letter written by Captain Vijayant Thapar to his parents before his martyrdom.
