Established in 2001, the HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace MuseumClick to open side panel for more information is India's first aerospace museum. Located on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru, it was founded by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to showcase the growth of the Indian aviation industry and HAL's contribution to aerospace over eight decades.
The museum spans over 10 acres and features two major halls and an outdoor aircraft park. The indoor collection includes scale models, historical photographs, and technical diagrams. The outdoor display features a wide array of retired fighter jets, trainers, and helicopters, alongside specialized engines like the Orpheus and Adour.
First Indian Aircraft: Displays tracing the development of the HT-2, the first aircraft designed and produced in India. Indigenous Fighters: Original airframes of the LCA Tejas (LSP-3) and the Marut (HF-24), India’s first indigenous supersonic fighter. Flight Simulators: Interactive mock-ups and simulators that allow visitors to experience virtual flying.
