Museum Introduction

Anand Bhawan is a historic house museum in Prayagraj that served as the residence of the Nehru family. Built in the 1930s by Motilal Nehru, it was a focal point of the Indian independence movement before being donated to the nation in 1970 by Indira Gandhi.

General Collections

The museum houses personal belongings of the Nehru family, furniture from the 1930s, rare photographs, and official documents related to the Indian National Congress and the freedom struggle.

Unique Historical Collections

It features the Jawaharlal Nehru Study, which contains his extensive personal library of over 7,500 books, and the preserved room of Mahatma Gandhi used during his frequent stays.
