Established in 1994, Amrita Kala Veethika is the first art gallery of the Purvanchal region. Located within the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Gorakhpur University campus, it is named after the "16 Amrita Kalas" of the full moon and honors the legacy of the world-renowned artist Amrita Sher-Gil, who had ancestral roots in the region.
The gallery hosts a rotating collection of contemporary paintings, sculptures, and textile designs. It primarily showcases the works of students and faculty from the Fine Arts department, as well as regional artists from across Uttar Pradesh.
