Built in the 1890s for Raja Amar Singh, this French-style chateau served as the last official residence of the Dogra dynasty. It was converted into a museum in 1975 by Dr. Karan Singh to preserve the rich royal heritage of Jammu.
The museum houses a vast collection of royal family portraits, contemporary Indian art, and an extensive library. It also includes galleries dedicated to Pahari and Kangra miniature paintings.
The star attraction is the Golden Throne of the Jammu rulers, which is made of 120 kg of pure gold.
