Museum Introduction

Established in 1952, the Alampur Site Museum is located at the entrance of the Nava Brahma Temple complex in Telangana. It was founded to preserve the exquisite sculptures and architectural fragments recovered from the local 7th-century Chalukyan temples and the surrounding Tungabhadra river valley.

General Collections

The museum houses over 124 stone sculptures and 26 inscriptional slabs. The collection spans from the 6th to the 16th century AD, representing the artistic legacies of the Badami Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Kakatiyas, and the Vijayanagara Empire.

Unique Historical Collections

The museum features the rare and ancient sculpture of Nagnaka Bhanda (Lajja Gauri), a lotus-headed goddess. It also contains unique polished black stone ceiling panels from the Kakatiya period.
