Museum Introduction

Inaugurated on April 14, 2008, the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sangrahalay (Museum of Social Transformation) is a key component of the massive 107-acre Ambedkar Memorial Park in Lucknow. Constructed entirely of red sandstone from Rajasthan, the museum building is distinguished by its two grand domes and is dedicated to the leaders who spearheaded social reform movements in India.

General Collections

The museum is divided into two large interconnected halls. The collection primarily consists of colossal 18-foot tall marble statues and bronze murals. One hall is dedicated to the "main architects of social change," while the second hall houses statues of great spiritual and social reformers. The exhibits focus on the ideology of equality and the historical struggle against social discrimination.
