Museum Introduction

Founded in 1980 by the Indian Numismatic, Historical and Cultural Research Foundation (INHCRF). Redesigned and expanded in 2018, the museum documents the evolution of Indian currency from the 5th century BCE to the modern era within a 5-acre campus set against the Brahmagiri Hills.

General Collections

Extensive archives of Indian coins, currency notes, and numismatic data. The expanded galleries now include fossils, minerals, archaeological finds, tribal art, musical instruments, and miniature paintings.

Unique Historical Collections

2,500 Years of Indian Coinage: A rare, continuous timeline of currency from punch-marked coins of the Mahajanapadas to the British Raj. It also features a unique collection of copper-plate manuscripts and ancient minting dyes.
