Built between 1750 and 1869, the palace was the official seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty (the Nizams). Its name means "Four Palaces" (Chow = 4, Mahalla = Palace). It served as the venue for royal coronations and grand durbars.
The museum spans two courtyards housing a vast array of royal artifacts, including costumes, weaponry, crockery, and historical photographs dating back to the late 19th century.
1912 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost: A custom-made, canary yellow throne car. The Khilafat Clock: A 250-year-old mechanical clock that is still wound weekly by a specialized family of horologists. Quran Gallery: Features rare, hand-written Qurans, including one attributed to Emperor Aurangzeb.
