Located in the village of Loutolim, this 250-year-old mansion belongs to the Alvares family and is part of the Ancestral Goa (Big Foot) tourist complex. It serves as a historical window into the life of a wealthy Goan family during the Portuguese colonial era, featuring traditional architecture and an automated narration system.
The mansion contains period furniture, European antiques, traditional Goan kitchenware, early 20th-century bathroom fixtures, and a private chapel located at the center of the house.
International Ganesha Collection: The museum houses a remarkably large and diverse collection of over 4,000 Ganesha idols from across India and the world (including Bali and Japan), varying in size from a grain of rice to three feet, made from various materials like wood, porcelain, and stone.
