Discovered in 2016 by Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao and inaugurated in 2019, this 15,000 sq. ft. underground bunker was built by the British before WWI to defend Mumbai Castle from naval attacks. It remained sealed and forgotten for over 60 years behind a temporary wall.
The 150-meter-long subterranean passage leads to 13 themed rooms, which have been restored to showcase naval history and the life of Indian revolutionaries through dioramas and VR technology.
Kranti Gatha: A dedicated gallery titled "Kranti Gatha" honors the unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle. It also features two 22-tonne twin cannons discovered buried nearby and a 3D holographic projection of the history of the Maratha forts.
