Inaugurated on May 14, 2014, as part of the massive 274-acre Buddhavanam project. It was envisioned to promote Buddhist tourism and highlight the region's ancient links with Acharya Nagarjuna and the Ikshvaku dynasty.
The museum houses artifacts discovered during the construction of the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, including coins, stone sculptures, bronze artifacts, and 100-year-old copies of the famous Ajanta frescoes.
Maha Stupa & Miniature Stupas: The museum is located on the ground floor of a massive replica of the Amaravati Maha Stupa. A unique "Stupa Vanam" features miniature replicas of famous stupas from around the world, including those from Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Thailand.
