Established in 1992, this museum was built to house and protect the antiquities discovered during various excavations in Kushinagar. It is located at Buddha Marg, near the Japan-Sri Lanka Buddhist Centre.
The collection consists of 248 primary items, including ancient sculptures, terracotta seals, coins from the Kushana and Gupta periods, and various excavated antiquities.
Gandhara Stucco Idol: The museum is uniquely famous for its striking Stucco idol of Lord Buddha built in the Gandhara style. It also houses rare Tibetan Thangka paintings and Mughal miniature paintings.
