Museum Introduction

Inaugurated in 1990, this centre was established by the G.P. Birla Archaeological, Astronomical and Scientific Research Institute. It was designed to promote scientific temper through interactive learning and to house the massive archaeological finds of the Birla Institute.

General Collections

The complex is divided into several major wings: the Interactive Science Centre, the Planetarium, the Dinosaurium, the Archaeology Museum, and the Space Museum.

Unique Historical Collections

Kotasaurus Yamanpalliensis: The museum is uniquely famous for its 160-million-year-old, 14-meter-long mounted dinosaur fossil excavated from Telangana. It also houses the Room Royale, a high-security vault containing a rare curtain embedded with gold wire and semi-precious stones.
