Established formally in 2009 (site excavated in 1974), the museum preserves the remnants of a 5-temple complex. It was inaugurated to protect and display the rare sculptures that were unearthed during scientific clearance of the mound adjacent to the Pinjore Gardens.
The collection includes over 100 antique sculptures, architectural fragments, stone plinths, and inscriptions. It covers various motifs including gods, goddesses, celestial musicians, and social scenes from the early medieval period.
Panchayatana Layout: The site uniquely displays the foundations of a "Panchayatana" style temple (a central shrine with four subsidiary ones). It is also famous for its erotic sculptures, which are rare in North Indian temple ruins and bear a striking resemblance to those in Khajuraho.
